Dear Primary Families,
This afternoon, you will have received your child’s Progress Report, which provides an update on their progress in both homeroom and specialist classes. Please take some time to read through the report and, especially with our older students, consider discussing it with your child. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, as always, feel free to contact their homeroom teacher.
Student-Led Conferences
These will take place next week and offer a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your child in their learning space. Over the years, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching students take the lead in guiding their parents through their learning and sharing some of the activities they regularly engage in at school. Sign-up sheets have been shared, and I hope you will be able to join your child next week. Specialist teachers will also be available—either via sign-up sheets or in their learning areas.
Please note that Student-Led Conferences are a time for your child to share and reflect on their learning journey. If you wish to have a more detailed conversation about your child’s progress, please arrange a separate time to do so.
Book Week
Next week is also Book Week, and we have a number of fun and engaging activities planned to celebrate. These include bookmark-making, reading buddies, a book swap, and—my personal favourite—Character Day! I hope you’ll enjoy getting creative with your child as they prepare to dress up as their favourite book character.
My costume is ready to go, and I’m looking forward to seeing which characters join us at school on Thursday. We’ll be wrapping up the week with a special assembly that parents are warmly invited to attend.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Best regards,
Matthew
Primary Team Lead
