Our Primary students have been actively engaged in exploring Gymnastics during their Physical and Health Education classes. Over the past few weeks, they’ve been learning a variety of fundamental movement skills such as balances, rolls, jumps, and counterbalances, and are now progressing into an exciting phase of the unit—creating their own movement routines! These routines allow students to:
-
Express themselves creatively through movement
-
Apply techniques they’ve been practicing in class
-
Collaborate with peers to plan and perform simple sequences
-
Demonstrate confidence, coordination, and body awareness
Through this unit, we are focusing on key concepts such as form, function, and connection, and supporting the development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills—especially creative thinking, self-management, and cooperation. We’re also encouraging our students to reflect and grow as communicators, risk-takers, and balanced individuals, in line with the IB Learner Profile.
We’re proud of the energy, creativity, and perseverance our students are showing, and we can’t wait for them to share their routines with you soon!
