Dear ABIS Families,
Swimming is a life-saving skill and an important part of our PHE curriculum.
This week, some MYP classes started with their swimming unit, while the remaining classes will start next week. It is important that students know which day they are scheduled to swim. If unsure, they should contact their PHE teacher for clarification. To participate in swimming lessons, students are expected to bring the following items:
- An appropriate swimsuit
- Swim goggles
- A towel
- Flip flops (for use around the pool area)
- Wet bag (for wet clothes)
Students will be assessed on their participation and performance. Below is a sample of the Grade 8 swimming assessment rubric.
