Dear parents,

What a wonderful evening we had at last night’s Iftar Supper! It was heartwarming to see so many of our ABIS community come together for this special occasion. Everyone enjoyed sharing Iftar with our staff, parents, and students.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming two esteemed representatives from Takaful to ABIS—Al Mansoor Bin Aqeel Bin Abdulnoor Al Farsi, Director of Takaful, and Ahmed Bin Salim Bin Hamed Al Maqbali. We were honored to present them with a cheque from the proceeds of our International Food Evening, an event that brought our ABIS community together while raising funds for a meaningful cause. The money raised will go directly toward supporting the 650 orphans under Takaful’s care. In addition, we are pleased to further our partnership with Takaful by providing our facilities during the summer break for a three-week training program aimed at empowering orphans aged 14-17.

Meanwhile, our Grade 1 students had an exciting adventure at City Centre supermarket! As part of their How We Organise Ourselves unit, they explored different community roles and responsibilities. They went on a scavenger hunt, interviewed employees, and even picked out some thoughtful Ramadan gifts for our custodial team. What a fantastic way to learn through real-world experiences!

Our Grade 8 students also had a meaningful experience this week—they visited the local Autism Centre to interview the director. They will present their findings to their peers, helping to build awareness and understanding in time for Autism Awareness Month in April.

Looking ahead, we’re holding the World Maths Day next week. The Mazoon will be buzzing with exciting, hands-on maths activities, giving students the chance to collaborate and discover the fun side of numbers. From problem-solving to real-world applications, this is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the magic of mathematics.

Have a great weekend!

Dominic Robeau
