Dear Primary Families,

Teachers’ Day

Miss Buttler, Mrs. Hughes (“My name is spelled HUG – HES.”), Mr. Allison, and Mrs. Waterman—I share these names as we approach Teachers’ Day on February 24, a day to honor teachers. These were four of the teachers who guided and supported me through primary school. Mr. Allison, in particular, had a lasting impact—he is one of the main reasons I chose to become a teacher. I am still in contact with him today, and I know I’m not the only former student who appreciates the positive influence he has had on our lives.

As we celebrate Teachers’ Day, I want to acknowledge and recognize the effort, professionalism, and care that our teachers show every day. Though I am no longer in the classroom, I know firsthand that teaching is an all-consuming, challenging, and deeply rewarding profession requiring great dedication.

KG1 – Grade 2 Assembly

Held earlier in the day, this was a wonderful way to start a day of celebration. Our youngest learners demonstrated their risk-taking attributes and shared their learning with some confidence. We recognize that preparing for these assemblies requires significant time and effort, and we continue to balance this with valuable teaching time. Thank you to the parents who were able to join us for this occasion. Our next assemblies will take place after Ramadan, and we will share the dates in advance.

International Food Evening

At the time of writing, I am looking forward to this evening’s event! A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing it together. It will be wonderful to see our community gather to enjoy delicious food and celebrate the many nationalities that make our school so special.

Wishing you all a fantastic extended weekend.

Best regards,

Matthew
