As always our week has flown by and once again we find ourselves at its end reflecting about our learning. Please have a look at Week 3 photos.
What We Did in Week 3
- Our essential agreement is all up
- Looking into ourselves in terms of our beliefs & values, culture, human relationship, responsibilities and health. Math problem solving strategy: Breaking apart a number and understanding Part-part-whole relationship (addition and subtraction)
- Finding 10 more or less than a number – Spinner game (4 in a row)
- Writing a narrative – pre-assessments
- Phrases used in the class
- Making Inferences: We used visualizing to read between the lines and make inferences
What We will Do in Week 4
- Math :
- Problem solving pre-assessment
- Continue with place value – 10/100/1000 more or less
- UOI: Ripple Effect (understanding the impact of our actions)
- Language: Continue with making inferences – we will focus on identifying character traits

Swimming:
- Class A: Ms. Amy’s swims on Monday; PE on Sunday
- Class B: Ms. Sri’s swims on Tuesday; PE on Wednesday

How can you help:
- Help your child practice fast facts at home. Real-life experiences like shopping, cooking, banking, cooking are most preferred. However, here is the link to printable sheets and online quiz.
- Provide opportunities for making connections – Sample game
- Please send a reusable water bottle, healthy snacks and lunch, sun hat/cap, pencil case everyday.
- Speak with your student using English. Ask them what they did during the day or what they are learning about. Use open-ended questions. Sometimes you might need to draw the information out. Using the link to look through the weekly pictures might help. Incorporating this into your daily routine would have positive benefits.
