Dear Primary Families,

What a fabulous way to end a very busy and hectic week! Once again, a huge thank you to Mr. Peter (and Ms. Ays) for using his expertise to support our students and prepare them for today’s Summer Concert. It was wonderful to see how much the students enjoyed the chance to show off the results of their hard work and demonstrate many attributes we value, especially being risk-takers.

While we ended the week with our concert today, we began the week with the opening day of our Primary Art Exhibition. Ms. Sanaa set up galleries in our atrium areas so that the whole school and community could celebrate the wonderful work completed throughout the year. The art workshops on Sunday were enjoyed by the students, and our grade 6 leaders showed great enthusiasm and patience when working with the other grade levels. Thank you to Ms. Sanaa and the grade 6 team for leading this initiative.

Grade 6 has been extremely busy this week (when are they not?) and managed to share their learning from a transdisciplinary unit of work. Their Comic Con(vention) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday was fabulous! Students inquired into how characters, settings, and themes may be represented in graphic novels. This knowledge was combined with their inquiries into migration and climate change and the impact these have on individuals and communities. It was great to see students from across the school enjoy attending this event. Congratulations to all involved, especially Mr. Nicholson and Mr. Wetzel, our very own superheroes!

Next week will be our final week of the school year, and we are looking forward to Spirit Week. Details of each day have already been shared, and we anticipate that this will be a fun way to bring our school year to a close.

On Tuesday morning, we will have our final coffee morning, and Mr. Cooper and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. This event will be followed by a parent workshop led by Ms. Maitha, our school counsellor. Further details will be shared in a Newsflash.

Thank you for your continued support. I wish you a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Matthew
