Dear Parents,
I hope that you and your family are in good health and safe given the difficulties caused by the flooding this week. We understand that these past few days have been immensely challenging for many families, with devastating losses of life, property, vehicles, and infrastructure, alongside disruptions to essential services like water, electricity, and internet connectivity. We hope that affected families can find solace and support among each other and within their communities.
The good news is that after three days of closure and online learning our school will reopen this coming Sunday 21st April.
While we recognize that some roads may still be affected by the flooding, and travel could be challenging for some families, we hope that students will be able to attend school. We understand the disruptions caused by the flooding and our bus drivers will be driving the bus routes on Saturday morning to check that all roads for pickups are accessible. We will advise parents should there be any difficulties.
Should you encounter any difficulties that will disrupt your child’s travel to school, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will continue to provide online tasks for your child.
In other news, we have sent out an order form for parents who wish to purchase the catered lunch for their child. Please fill this in as soon as possible.
The ASA form and the student led conference forms have also been sent out. Please take a moment to fill these forms in.
On Friday a swimming competition run by the Nautilus Club will be held at ABIS from 9.00 am onwards. All students and parents are invited to attend and cheer our ABIS swimmers!
I am also pleased to advise that ABIS now has a card machine so parents can use debit and credit cards at the school.
