Dear parents,
Each day this week I was at the front gate meeting and greeting parents and students. This a great start to my day as I can say hello, have a chat and give and receive smiles from many. I would encourage you that if you see me at the gate to come up and say hello. Likewise, during the school day my door is always open and I would like to meet you, have a coffee or tea and get your feedback on ABIS. Please feel welcome to drop by!
Today, I had the pleasure of attending the grade 3-6 assembly, where students showcased their classroom learnings. My congratulations to all the students for demonstrating their knowledge and skills with enthusiasm. It was evident how much they enjoy their learning journey. A special thank you to their dedicated teachers for consistently nurturing and developing their students.
Our first Open Day is next week on Thursday February 1. This is a day for parents who do not have children at ABIS to come and visit, see the school campus, meet with me, our team leaders Andy and Matthew, the teachers of the grade they are interested in, and find out more about the benefits of sending their children to ABIS. If your family or friends are interested, please encourage them to visit any time between 8.00 am and 12.00 pm on Thursday February 1.
We will trial a catering service for students and a Newsflash was sent out today. Due to the break, Oman week and Ramadan, we will trial it for 3 weeks before Ramadan. If you would like to see if your child enjoys these lunches, please pay 15 rials which will give your child 12 lunches. The bank details are: Bank Muscat, Sohar Branch, Acc No. 0343050148880018 When making the payment, please put in ‘remarks’ the name of your child and grade.
Next week the Grade 10 students are presenting their Personal Projects on 31st January from 6pm – 7pm in LC2. These projects demonstrate the skills and abilities of the students in presenting a project of their choice and design. All parents and students are invited to visit and see these projects.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
