Dear Primary Families,
Thank you to all G6 families who attended the PYP – MYP Transition Meeting last night. It was encouraging to see such a high turnout of parents wanting to learn more and know how to support their child.
We have just over a month left until our academic year comes to an end. While this is hard to believe in some regards, we have also accomplished a lot with our students over the year. We will continue to push students to achieve and learn right up until the last week of school. Please contact your child’s teacher(s) if you have any questions at all about their growth over the year, or about how to best support learning from home now and through the summer months.
Our weather certainly turned HOT this week! Naturally, we are allowing students to relax inside during the morning breaks if they choose to do so. During lunch, students are not allowed to play outside and have been dancing or playing catch in the Mazoon, playing badminton or basketball in the Sports Hall, reading or colouring in the Library and playing indoor games like Jenga, Chess or Lego in LC1. It’s tough for students to stay inside all day long, but they seem to be enjoying the choices offered them during lunch this year.
We had a lovely assembly hosted by the Grade 3 and 4 students today. This time the focus was Languages: Additional Language and Mother Tongue students shared their learning, and we were treated to a French song as well. Next week, our Primary Assembly will be hosted by Grades 1 and 2, so come and join us in the Mazoon at 12:20pm on Thursday, May 25.
Enjoy a restful and relaxing weekend under the air conditioner! Maeve
