Dear Primary Families,
I used to do a report card happy dance with my students! It was because we were celebrating accomplishments and making plans for next steps, and because learning is exciting. When you read your child’s report card today, try to adopt that attitude. Each ABIS student has strengths and achievements highlighted in their report, and each learner always has a next step on their journey. Celebrate your child’s growth with them, and encourage them by talking about their goals and defining ways to meet them. Please contact your child’s teachers if you have questions about their learning or would like strategies for how to help them at home.
Next week, our Primary Assemblies will start again. Our first assembly of 2023 will be hosted by Kindergarten 1 & 2 students! All parents are invited to attend in the Mazoon, next Thursday, Feb. 9 at 12:30pm. We look forward to seeing lots of proud parents in the audience.
Oman Week preparations are underway. There are lots of special activities happening at school during the week of Feb. 12-16 including assemblies, special guests and field trips. Please follow the weekly emails and communication from your child’s teachers to know what is happening in each grade level. This week the Grade 6 class had their 2 night trip to Nizwa and area, and it was a huge success, with lots of tired but happy students (and teachers) returning to Sohar on Tuesday afternoon.
Thank you to all parents for your ongoing support. As always, I wish you a lovely weekend. Maeve
