Dear Primary Families,
Thank you all for your collaboration on Wednesday when we called a rain day. It was my first rain day at ABIS, and I was very impressed with the great communication and total cooperation from parents in picking up students early. While I personally love the rainy weather, I appreciate the problems it can pose when wadis and roads suddenly flood, and the safety of our students is always at the front of our minds when making decisions like this.
Next Thursday afternoon, you will receive your child’s Semester One Report Card. This is a comprehensive document where all homeroom and single subject teachers comment on growth for the first semester of the academic year, providing information about individual student strengths, areas for improvement, effort and approaches to learning and achievement according to grade level expectations. You will receive an email notification when the report has been sent.
Next week, the Grade 6 will go on their 2 night trip to Nizwa and area. This is very exciting and we are pleased that the students can benefit from this kind of learning experience together, outside the classroom. The majority of our Oman Week adventures and field trips will occur during the week of Feb. 12-16. We have some special activities happening on campus that week too. If you are keen to help out, or have some local knowledge or skills you are able to share with the students, please speak to your child’s teacher(s) about how you can be involved.
Wishing you a lovely, cool weekend. Maeve
