Dear Families,

We were treated to another great assembly today.  Grades 1-3 showed off their French and Arabic language skills and shared some Oman Day celebrations and learning with us.  Well done to all who contributed, and thanks to parents for joining us.

We will not have assemblies during December because we are having Primary Music Concerts.  As Mr. Peter has already communicated, please plan to attend on the following days:

  • Sunday, December 4 @ 5pm: Grades 1 & 2 concert
  • Monday, December 5 @ 6pm: Grades 3, 4 & 5 concert
  • Sunday, December 11 @ 6pm: Grades 6-12 concert

All students are asked to dress in smart black and white coloured clothing the evening of their performances.  We look forward to seeing lots of families present at these performances.  The students are very excited to share their songs with you!

Kindergarten classes will host their own Celebrations of Learning in December. You will receive details about that event from Kindergarten teachers soon.

Kindergarten 1 parents: please plan to attend the Parent Information Meetings scheduled for next Sunday, Nov. 27.  Ms. Erasmus has shared those details via email invitation.

We are hosting a school wide Parent Coffee Morning on Monday, November 28 at 8am in the atrium of LC3.  This is for both Primary and Secondary parents to meet and mingle, and Mr. Cooper and I will both be present.  We look forward to seeing you then.

Primary students are starting to collect points for their House Teams.  They receive points from all of their teachers for demonstrating Learner Profile traits.  These are important as part of our PYP learning and it is great to see them being highlighted.  If you’d like to help promote Learner Profile traits with your child(ren) at home, please refer to the poster below.  Next week is the last week for students to bring in a photo of themselves reading somewhere interesting in Oman for the Library House Team Competition.

On Wednesday, Dec. 7 there will be a Sports Day for grades Kindergarten through 4th, and on Thursday, Dec. 8 there will be a Sports Day for grades 5th through 12th.  Students will be working with their House Team colours to earn points those days too.  Parents are welcome to join us on those mornings.

I hope you enjoy the National Day long weekend, announced for November 30 and December 1.    Maeve
