Dear parents,
This week has brought sad news for the ABIS community. It is with great regret that I advise of the departure of Celine Rowlands from ABIS. Celine fell ill recently and must return to the UK for treatment. Celine has been with ABIS since 2009 and is one of the longest-serving members of staff. She has looked after many at the school with her generous spirit and genuine care for our ABIS children. She will be greatly missed, we wish her all the best and a speedy recovery.
Much has happened this week with the start of the ASA’s, Grades 4-6 assembly today, the House lunches, and preparation for next week’s 3-way conferences. The Grade 4-6 assembly today was wonderful, and it was great to see parents attending. If you haven’t done so already, keep an eye out for your child’s assembly and come along to see them demonstrate their learning.
Students got together for the first time this year in their respective Houses to have lunch. This was a great way for the students in each House to get to know each other. There will be more House events throughout the year.
The 3-way conferences run on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Please sign up here to speak to your child’s teacher/s.
Please note that just for next week there will be no ASA’s. The ASA’s resume on Sunday 20th November.
On Thursday 17 November we celebrate National Day and all students and staff are asked to wear either traditional Omani dress or Omani colours on the day.
I am pleased to say that we have found a professional tennis coach who will offer fee-based lessons for small groups of students after school and will also be available for parents to book in groups or as individuals. We will advertise next week and lessons will begin on Sunday, November 20 at ABIS.
Enjoy your weekend!
