Dear parents,
For those who celebrate Ramadan, I wish you a Holy Month and a time of peace and joy with your family, Ramadan Kareem!
We have found that this week the temperatures have increased, and we are keeping a close eye on the children during break time. They have been told that if they prefer to stay indoors during break time they can. Once the temperatures are too hot, we will go back to the system we had last year with the students moving to different areas every day such as the Mazoon, the sports hall, and the library.
This is the first time that we have initiated a different timetable for Ramadan while face to face at ABIS. This week we have found that the teachers are doing well to cover the curriculum and the students are managing with the shorter periods. Our grade 12 students are staying longer after school as they are preparing for their final IB Diploma examinations which begin on April 28. We wish them all the best as they prepare for these exams.
It has been pleasing to see parents back on the school campus again after all this time. Please do come by and see your child’s learning area and meet our teachers!
We had hoped to have an Iftar for the ABIS community, however, the Supreme Committee has said that Iftar cannot be celebrated with the public at this time. However, we do plan to have an evening of food before the end of the year. I will keep you informed.
As the weather gets warmer, it is important that students adhere to the school dress code. Please do check they are appropriately dressed before they come to school. Also, if your child plays outside, they must wear a hat.
A reminder that on the school calendar the week of Eid is a non-teaching week. This means that students do not come to school Sunday, May 1 until Thursday, May 5. The school will resume on Sunday, May 8.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
