Now that ASAs are underway, the Art Club will be meeting every Monday afternoon from 3:10 until 4:00.
Our first session began with a survey to determine the needs of all student members. Some have joined to gain extra studio time for finishing their in-class assignments or service projects relating to visual art. Others want a relaxed environment where they can work on their personal art, such as by following YouTube tutorials. Still others are hoping to learn new techniques that may not be covered during their regular class units.
So far, we have seen a strong interest in pottery! Several students are choosing to build on their existing skills from recent clay units, and hope to join together to put on a group exhibition at some point next term. Many of our DP art students have also signed up for the ASA and are taking advantage of this time to work on completing their exhibition pieces.
