Dear Families;
It is with great pleasure that we welcomed back Ms. Margot, our fabulous Information Technology teacher and librarian, and Mr. Mike, our energetic Primary music and KG PE teacher, this week. Thank you to Ms. Cora Brady-Robeau and Ms. Ana Sepanovic who stepped in during their absence in order to provide ongoing quality programs. It is with sad hearts this week that we say goodbye to our dear Grade 2 teacher, Ms. Fiona Stewart, will travel back to Scotland for health reasons. We are indeed fortunate to have Ms. Brady at the ready to step in and work with Ms. Wendy, Ms. Salima and the grade 2 students. Cora already knows the students well and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Teachers are busy finalizing Progress Report comments and uploading them onto our ManageBac program. You will receive your child’s Term 1 Progress Report next Tuesday, October 26 via email. This is a great opportunity to have a conversation with your child about achievements so far this year as well as learning goals for the near future. Please make sure the school has your current email address. If you do not receive your child’s progress report by next Tuesday afternoon, please contact Mr. Atul, our IT Manager, in order to ensure our school data is up to date. Mr. Atul: a.alex@abisoman.com
Swimming continues to be a highlight of the week for Primary students! They love being in the water and the lessons are going very well with students following health and safety protocols and having a great time learning new swimming skills. Please continue to send appropriate swim wear, a towel and a bag for wet gear afterwards. We strongly recommend that students wear goggles as this enhances the experience as well as protects students’ eyes from infection. We strongly recommend swim caps as it keeps hair out of faces during lessons as well as keeps the pool clean and protects the filtration system. Thank you for your ongoing support with our swim program. We are so impressed with the near 100% participation rate in Primary.
Please remember that next week is a short week for ABIS and that October Break will run from Wednesday, Oct. 27 – Sunday Oct. 31 inclusive. We will see everyone back at school on Monday, Nov. 1. Enjoy the time with your children and if you are traveling please remain safe.
