Another week, in the books! As with our previous weeks, it went by fast. This to me, is good news. It means we are having fun and learning. It seems our key concepts of FORM and FUNCTION led our learning. In math, we looked at the FORM of a number and analyzed how many 10’s were in it. We asked how many “ten sticks” it takes to make a particular number? We learned to model numbers on our whiteboards, then decompose them using only sets of ten. While this was fun, we had even more fun when we “chit-chatted” while reading, Voices in the Park. This was a wonderful activity that helped us learn about the PERSPECTIVE of various characters in the book. As always, please ask your student about their learning.
