Dear Families;
As you are aware, ABIS has decided to shorten the school day during the holy month of Ramadan. Information was shared in a Newsflash this week. You will be informed of the starting date of Ramadan as soon as it has been announced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Please be reminded of our school wide dress code. We have seen a number of Primary students arriving in non-ABIS clothing, and in some cases wearing short shorts or sleeveless shirts. Even with the weather getting hotter, it is important to wear appropriate clothing to school. This includes a hat for sun protection and appropriate shoes for outdoor play. Thank you for helping us to maintain these standards.
Students should not be dropped off at school prior to 7:50am. Supervision is not provided before that time and students will be asked to wait at the gate until their temperature can be taken, they can sanitize properly and teachers or CAs will be available to ensure safe play prior to classes starting at 8:20am. We appreciate your support in keeping all of our students safe.
Next week is an exciting week at our school! The student council has planned special dress up days for each day of the week, from March 28 – April. These fun activities promote a sense of togetherness and community while providing students with a bit of fun and promoting a healthy learning environment. This is meant to be fun for our students, and should not be stressful for parents! A hat, some face paint or a simple accessory can be enough for your child to feel included and part of the fun. Please see the advertisement from the student council below:
The Community Council has organized a Spirit Week – a week to show your ABIS spirit and celebrate our school with a bit of fun! Spirit Week is a series of dress up events and will take place from March 28th to April 1st. Students are reminded that clothing for the week must still follow basic cultural norms: cover the shoulders and knees, and not tight nor see-through. Here are the list of events within that week:
