Dear parents,
It’s been a great week. The weather is perfect, school is running exceptionally well and the news that KG will be allowed to open soon was very welcome. We are waiting for instructions from the Ministry of Education for when this will start.
The Grade 10 students today presented their Personal Projects virtually to audiences of their peers and teachers. The culmination of many months work was well received by all. Congratulations to the students for completing this capstone project of the MYP.
We said farewell to Michelle Simpson yesterday afternoon, speeches were made and gifts given. We wish her all the best on her journey home.
As we draw near to the Winter Break, IBDP Grade 12 students are working hard to complete some of their IB Diploma Internal Assessments. I wish them all the best in their endeavours.
I have been visiting the Primary years classes this week and was impressed by the work they are doing. Much is being done, and if you read the articles by their teachers you will gain a good insight into class activities.
Secondary is equally industrious; I had the opportunity to sit in on a class and the independent work students are doing is admirable. Our MYP students are engaged and doing well.
Next week student photographs will take place, please remember to ensure they wear an ABIS shirt and appropriate clothing. Those students who are studying online are welcome to come to the school for their photograph to be taken during the hours shared in the recent Newsflash. The ordering system will be shared soon.
On a personal note, I was delighted to welcome my wife and son who arrived today from Indonesia where they had been waiting for the family visas to open. We will now be in quarantine for 7 days as per government regulations.
Have a wonderful weekend!
