The primary staff ended the short week with our first face to face staff meeting. It was a little sad to have us all in physically distanced rows in the Mazoon but we were able to engage in some professional discussions while keeping our distance. Staff were looking at values and how these are related to our teaching and the ways in which they support the schools mission and vision.
It was nice on my wonderings during this week to see our students still participating in PE outside. The current unit is Athletics and I had the pleasure of watching some grade 5 students practicing High Jump with Mr. Munn. We also had physically distanced helpers and score keepers!
It is great to see so many students back at school. They seem to be enjoying being back on campus and engaging with their peers and their teachers. Just a reminder that you should let the school know via email if you wish for your child to join face to face classes, by Thursday of the week for the next week. This allows teachers to get prepared for both students in school and still online. Parents are discouraged from changing their minds during the week as it makes planning and preparation very difficult for the teachers concerned.
I do hope you are enjoying your break this weekend whatever you choose to do. I will be off somewhere camping enjoying the wadis of Oman. See you on Sunday for my last week at ABIS.
