Dear All,
It is with some sadness that I write my post today. After seven years at ABIS I am returning to New Zealand to be with my children at the beginning of December. I have loved my time here in Sohar, Oman, and at ABIS. I would like to thank you all for making my family feel so welcome and for being part of my time here. The experiences we have had in Oman have helped shaped the people we are today and we take with us so many happy memories.
It has been amazing to watch the growth of the school from a villa for primary and, a portacabin for our secondary students, to such a modern learning environment – a truly unique campus. We have seen many new initiatives including the introduction of the Global Section. What has not changed is the family feel of the school and the tremendous support of our school community. There is never a dull moment at ABIS and I can honestly say that every day here is new and exciting!
I would like to thank the board for their support during the past seven years, in particular as we navigated our way through transitioning between heads of school, reopening and the Covid pandemic.
It has been great to see our students back this week and so many of our parents at drop off and pick up, after eight months of not seeing you all!
The students, families and staff who I have come to know so well, will always hold a special place in my heart. I am pleased to be leaving the school in such great hands with Dominic, Maeve and Jon. You may well see me back in Sohar as my husband, Paul, will be staying on.
For now, gratitude and best wishes to you all.
