Inspired by the biographies we have read recently, Grade 3 have interviewed a person we admire to gather information to write a biography about this person. Some of us interviewed a parent, others a cousin and others chose a special friend.

As we interviewed them we needed to make notes of their answers to our questions. Then the next step is to shape this information into a story about this person’s life. Trying to use a variety of sentence beginnings is important so that the biographies will sound interesting to read. We want to do a great job because we are going to share them with the person who they are about. It will be so fun reading each other’s biographies too.
As part of our inquiry into Natural Resources, we read a non fiction book about oil. By thinking of questions before we read the book, we were able to gain lots of new information about this resource which has helped to make the Middle East wealthy. Learning to ask questions and find answers is an important part of learning.

We love to be active and PE is one of our favourite times of the week. Here is a selection of some of our other learning activities this week.
