Dear parents,
As we end our second week at school, I have met with the senior leadership team to discuss how well the students have settled into their Distance Learning. The reports coming back are positive; the students are becoming used to their learning activities online and have adapted well.
It was wonderful to see how everyone has been energised and enthusiastic. Enthusiasm is an important part of a student’s life as they can ask themselves ‘how high can I go?’ allowing them to grow and develop as young people with an eye for the future.
As the term progresses, your children are learning how to learn, as they practice, build on and refine their communication, research, self-management and critical thinking skills. It is these skills which will be important for them as lifelong learners, skills that all their teachers seek to develop.
I would like to thank all our parents who are supporting their child’s learning and assisting. Please regularly check on your child’s progress in their subjects and ask them if they are keeping up with their tasks. Should you need assistance or further advice, please contact your child’s teacher
Finally, I am pleased to say that ABIS will be providing our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students an iPad to use at home during Distance Learning. A time will be advised for the distribution of these next week.
Have a good weekend!
Dominic Robeau
