We have learned lots of information about bones this week. We have been looking closely at the Skeletal system, how it works and what we must do to keep it functioning well.

We tried to build a skeleton and were surprised to find that our limbs have more bones than we expected. By working together we were able to figure out where all the bones go and ‘Sally’ the skeleton started to look like she should.

After lunch we came back and found Sally reading!

We tried to work out where some of the organs are found in the human body. There were a few that we hadn’t heard of. It was a challenge to describe what the function of each organ is. There is so much to learn about the human body.

Dr Carol the dentist, visited Grade 3 today to teach us how to look after our teeth. We found out lots of important information that we need to put into practice.

Did you know:
* we should brush our teeth before bed and after breakfast every day.
* it is recommended to use a small soft toothbrush
*it should take 3 minutes to brush our teeth
* we need to floss between our teeth before brushing
* we should brush our gums each day and our tongue once a week
* children should have a dental check every 6 months
*the best drink for our teeth is water
