It has been a quick week back in Grade 3L, however the returning students seemed ready to get going again. We continued on with our Unit of Inquiry looking at “How we express ourselves” We looked at the art of the Renaissance and the the Impressionists and created our own works using some of the theory behind these styles. We have read a series of books together which look at several artists, and the messages they shared through their art. The conversations were filled with great questions and insights.
it has been an exciting time for the students as well as they (as you are most likely aware) have received their iPads. thank you so much for reviewing all the documents that go along with this great opportunity for the kids. Each week the students will have opportunities to use this technology in authentic ways in the classroom.
In maths we continue our investigation into addition and subtraction, using an inquiry based approach that allows the students to work on problems with hands on materials, and game activities. Next week the students will introduced to the program XTRAmath.org. Please, you do not need to purchase the app, it is free to use online and this will be explained to the students next week.
