Our unit on forces began with a car race. The challenge was to build a race track using material available in class. In the discussion that followed the children explored the factors that led to cars slowing down and identified friction as a leading cause. In math we continued to work on division. Next week we will move onto fractions. In writing we will be working on explanation writing while focusing on the use of synonyms (words with similar meaning).
