This Wednesday, I held our second assessment session round the table in our library. We read through a list of characteristics of effective assessment for the students, teachers and parents. (Drawn from IB documentation).

As an example of the importance of student involvement in developing and understanding success criteria, we attempted to evaluate two quite different drawings of a flower – with and without set criteria.

I shared the G6 assessment matrix developed with the students showing all the different types of evidence that would need to be collected, at agreed intervals by individuals or groups for self, peer or teacher evaluation.

If you would like to view these items, please drop by the admin office and ask me.

Thanks to our parents who attended enthusiastically and engaged in the conversation.
