As you’re aware, this has been a particularly difficult week for our students and staff due to the tragic loss of a Primary student in an accident involving a car. So far we have been very impressed with how students have been managing and coping, as well as supporting each other. Teachers and Advisors have met several times to discuss how we can support students, especially those most affected. There will be further communications from the school in regard to these support strategies. Meanwhile, our thoughts and prayers are very much with the family concerned.

In terms of planned events, we will continue with our plans to hold the picnic and beach clean up next week, as we feel that they will help bring our community together and provide older students with the opportunity to strengthen their relationships with the younger students. We have, however, moved the Band and Choir evening from this Wednesday to March 22nd as a mark of respect.

Following the release of the Semester one reports, our students have been focusing on their personal targets in Advisory this week. It is really pleasing to see them respond so thoughtfully and constructively to suggestions from their teachers. We often marvel at the maturity of many of the comments they write and enjoying witnessing their growing independence.

I wish you a restorative weekend.
