Well…this week in IB Chemistry we did a fractional distillation of crude oil in the lab. Thanks to Orpic for the sample provided, it will sort us out for the next few years. The characteristic smell of this important material filled the lab for a day and we were able to extract three fractions with the equipment available. We also dehydrated an alcohol to produce ethene and test for it using bromine water.
Grade 10 finished inheritance, grade 11 finished atomic structure and are currently working in Biochemistry.
