What a hectic week!

The June 10 show is taking shape, with a couple of dances having everyone in the school involved and all songs having a couple of classes together, so to encourage smoothness of movement, classes are being combined.  Grades 5 and 6 sing together and now come to practices together so they can learn to interact with each other which increases the charisma of the performance. Grades four A and B luckily are already combined so they have developed a nice rapport in their shared song. Grades two and three started this week, which, while noisy, ended up being really fruitful, particularly with the number that closes the show. Grades one and K3 are due to start their shared rehearsals this coming week.  Everyone is becoming very excited about “strutting their stuff” for you!

Exams in the secondary school have meant that the students are now under some pressure to complete their dances for the show (and the June 4 assembly!!!!) but they are moving along. Classes here are also being combined whenever possible – secondary schedules tend to be less flexible as they are complex – and this coming week we expect a rather exciting if somewhat squashed rehearsal with everyone from grades 7-9.

I am starting to have questions from children about what to wear – very timely! – and I would like to share with you what Miss Camp and I have discussed.  We tried to be as accommodating as possible and would appreciate your support in ensuring the children are outfitted correctly.  We ask that all children wear brightly coloured tops with NO PATTERNS, NO PICTURES, NO WORDS and dark bottoms – navy blue, black, dark brown, charcoal are all acceptable.

To finish, here are some bits and pieces uploaded onto the school’s private account on youtube:
