First of all – here are the films taken by Mrs Willis during the Omani dance assembly.  I hope you have the chance to enjoy them!

The Primary School is working hard for the end of year show, with classes being combined and singing and dancing being inextricably entwined. This allows our children to gain a partial understanding of the relationship between dance and song in musicals.  The represented musicals have been carefully chosen by Miss Camp and, if you are a musical fan, you will recognise a great many of the tunes.  Rehearsals for the whole school are in the works.  Make sure you reserve June 10 as your special night to come and celebrate with our children.

The Secondary School children are working just as hard – they have exams as well, so are understandably learning how to best manage their time. They have an assembly on June 4 where they will present their hip hop style creations to our primary students. They are also preparing for the June 10 extravaganza and learning their parts. The grade nines have even more on their plate – they are preparing choreography for the competition at BSM in Musat for June 17, so life for them is extremely busy. Our IGCSE children are an integral part of all of this, including our grade ten student Claire Willis who has remained in dance class despite her exams being finished (grade ten students do not usually attend class just before, during and after their exams).

Last year we ran our usual staff end of year dance and invited parents to join us. This is a possibility this year as well, so please stay tuned for information!  I am happy to spend a couple of evenings a week teaching interested parents our new steps.  It is slightly more complex than last year’s dance, but I know you can do it!  Thanks to our grade tens who spent their last day in dance helping with choreography and to David Tomalin who also contributed ideas.
