This week we have been finishing off our last UOI. The students had the Grade 5 class read their narrative about life in 2050. It was wonderful as the Grade 5 students gave some excellent feedback. They were also impressed by the standard of the work and assured Grade 4 students of their readiness to advance to grade 5 next year.
The students have busy reading as well. They are doing author studies on two authors and have been engrossed in reading their books. We plan to email the authors questions we would like to ask.
For the summative assessment the students made I-movies. After viewing them they realized they needed to improve so they have been working together to complete these as well.
In Maths the students have learnt how to simplify fractions. In doing this they have put together their knowledge about prime numbers and division.
All in all even though it has been a short week it has also been a busy one!
