We value collaboration between students and teachers as a vital part of the learning process, and technology plays a big role in this. There are so many wonderful online platforms for collaborative learning. In Secondary School, our most popular platform is Google.
We’ve been using Google Docs for some time now, allowing students and teachers to work simultaneously on a document. We’ve seen that can make the planning, writing, and editing processes more meaningful than working in isolation.
In History class I’ve recently started using Google Slides, which is basically on online PowerPoint program. The image I’ve attached here is my growing catalog of collaborative projects with students. I’ve found that they respond to presentation slides as well as a document; when given ownership of a slide, or two or three slides, they really put the effort in to making those slides excellent. The final product–say, a revision presentation for an upcoming test–is stellar.
