The week we have been continuing our experiments and learning about the scientific method. We have made lemonade on Sunday and on Tuesday we made slime. We were very lucky because both times we were able to work in the science lab.
For language the students have learning how to research using the internet. They have been finding out about the effects of rubbish on the environment, animals and people! They are working together in groups for this task. Once they have completed their research they will put their information onto a poster to present to the rest of the class. They have also been learning about procedural writing. They have written up experiments and have nearly finished writing their recipes for making gold.
Maths times have also been busy. They have been investigating the size of their pace. In this investigation they have used a variety of mathematical strands in context. They have used the measurement, data gathering and calculations. They have also been learning about how to estimate. Yesterday we went to Palm gardens and walked a kilometer. They used trundlers and stop watches to measure how fast they were walking.
