Dear Students and Parents,
At the beginning of this new year in Art students in G6, 7 and 8 are studying the elements of art and principles of design before shortly embarking on their creative projects. Students in G9 have been learning about the IGCSE Art course requirements, possibilities, creative processes and standards and are now boosting their skills in drawing and will soon be experimenting with varied media and studying colour theory as route into their project work. G10 students have been investigating ideas for motifs and interesting artworks to study relating to their individual chosen themes to begin their IGCSE Art coursework projects. Students in G11 have learnt about the new IB Visual Arts course and are now studying the fascinating subject of world art history including cultural and contextual studies, which will contribute to their first assessed component, the Comparative Study (of Artworks). Students in G12 meanwhile are investigating and creating art work for their end of course assessment and exhibition, which will be very exiting!
