Much of the the focus in morning Advisory this week has been personal target setting. It is our belief that students who choose their own targets and take ownership of them are more motivated than those who have a target chosen for them or have no targets or goals at all. The process we use is that, following a discussion, each student completes an online form and decides on a numerical target which they feel is realistic for their next report. They then select strategies that they feel will help them achieve that target. At this stage they are mentored by their Advisor and teachers, who have already made suggestions in the reports about how they can improve. This information is then shared with their teachers and Advisor so that they can offer their support and advice. I hope that doesn’t sound confusing.

G11 students were very happy to have raised over 250 Rials in donations after their Maher presentation doing the Winter concert interval yesterday. Thank you to those who donated to this worthwhile cause. On that note we hope to send Grade 10’s to India this year to continue our work with this excellent organisation.
This morning we had a visit from the Medical College by several trainee doctors. Grade 9 student Claire Willis has initiated her own CAS project in which she donated teddy bears, skilfully made by Mrs Willis. We held a special ceremony in which these teddy bears were presented to the medical college, which may seem strange to you at first! The teddy bears will be given to sick children when they arrive at the hospital to give them some comfort. We think that this is a great example of a student led CAS project. Well done Claire!
Have an enjoyable weekend.
