First of all, I hope you had a wonderful summer.
School will be starting for returning students tomorrow morning at 8.15 sharp and we are all looking forwards to seeing you. The school has been a very busy but empty place over the last few weeks!
A few bits of information and reminders for the start of school.
School Clothing
Haydee and I have been working hard over the summer to find a good solution for school clothing this year. we have take a dual track approach and have found a local supplier who will be making our standard polo shirts and T shirts. We will be taking orders for these shirts over the next couple of weeks.
We have also been talking with a European supplier about providing us with some higher quality school clothing that we hope the students will love to wear. Samples of these are currently being produced and as soon as we have them we’ll be sharing them with you.
Renovation Work
We have been very busy while you’ve been away repainting and making sure the school is in good shape for the next school year. We have created a new Grade 6 area which is looking great and having finished off the work in the dance room by installing a mirrored wall and a new sound system. Lots of less visible work has also been happening with many new air conditioning units being installed across the school etc…
Classes
The Kindergarten classes through to Grade 2 are located downstairs in the main building this year. Upstairs you will find Grade 3 (2 classes) to Grade 6. Grades 7 to 11 will be in the SLS. Specialist classrooms have not been moved this year.
New Teachers
As I informed you last school year we have three new teachers this year. Mr. Mohamed will be teaching our Grade 4 students, Ms. Camp is our new Music Teacher and Ms. Graves is our Secondary Science Teacher. Please take a moment tomorrow to welcome them to our community if you run into them.
As always, the Broadcaster is there for you to find out what is going on (password is ‘parents’) and we’ have sorted out the lists for the weekly e-mails by next Thursday!
We are all really excited about the new year and can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Enjoy you last holiday.
Best wishes
Neil Tomalin
