Students in Grade Four are investigating Measurement; at the moment specifically AREA. Here are some comments at the initial stage of the investigation:
Sanna: Area is a side of something flat.
Alla – The difference between Area and Perimeter is that Perimeter is the outside line of the shape border and Area is the space.
Sachin: “Squared” is a form of measurement.
Deema: Area is a piece of space
Jade: I am not very sure what area is but I’ll try to answer. So I think it is about cm2 (2 means squared).
Trina: An area is the inside of a square
Prisha: You can find the Area of workrooms, gyms, playgyms, buildings and pool areas.
Courtney: Area is a space inside shapes
Michael: A perimeter is the outside of an area. Area is a space inside shapes
Abhishek: Area is inside.
Yann: You can find the area of a class, sports field or box
