The following reports have been written by grade four students about their passion project presentations just before Eid.

Our Passion Project by Newton

Our Passion Project is about the Unit of Inquiry.  My Passion Project was about Jose Rizal.  I chose this hero because he is Filipino and I’m Filipino.  I chose Keynote.  I felt good when I was presenting.  There was only one comment.  I will try harder next time.  Next Passion Project I won’t read it at all, I will just talk about it.

Passion Project by Trina

This year’s Passion Project is awesome.  I was a little scared, but I could do it.  My dad and mum said “be yourself.”

My passion project is about Nelson Mandela.  My dad and mum helped me a lot with it.  The words “passion project” means something that you are really passionate about.  I chose Nelson Mandela because he helped poor black people, otherwise if Nelson was not the president, the black people would be treated badly by white people.

My Passion Project by Oleg

My passion project was on the 21st of October.  a passion project is about something or somebody that you’re passionate about.

This time we were making a passion project on heroes.  My hero is Henry Ford.  He is a hero because he developed the first car and opened the Ford Motor Company.  We had to write about: “Why is he a hero?”, “How did he change the world?”, “How is he a reflection of ideas, values and hopes?”, “Where did he live?”, “When was he born?” and about his family.

I had all the important information but I forgot some details.  I felt a bit nervous.  I need to be more confident and summarise the speech.  I think it was a bit fun.

The Passion Project by Sanna

A passion Project is about working on a specific topic and choosing something you are really interested in.  It’s about researching and putting the most important information together and then presenting it to the audience.  My Passion Project was about heroes.  Heroes are a reflection of ideas, hopes and values.  I chose Robin Hood as my hero because I recently watched a movie about him and I liked the selfless way he helped the poor and how he was standing up for the weak.  I chose to present my hero in the form of a poster which I first designed on my iPad.  There were some pictures and the most important key notes on it.  Everything was hidden behind several post-it notes.  Before my presentation I felt excited because it was my first Passion Project.  It was a new experience for me that the whole class was looking at me.  Then my colleagues said that I presented it like a quiz and they said I did really well.  My teacher Ms. Saunders commented that she liked how I connected between the ideas and how I showed his hero qualities.  Ms Saunders liked that I spoke very clearly and my neat Passion Project.  I would like to work more independently next time.

My Passion Project by Spencer

1. My passion project was about Neil Armstrong and his history and a bit of why he is a hero.

2. I chose this hero because when I heard about him I wanted to be an astronaut.

3. For m y project about Neil Armstrong I used Book Creator so I made a book.

4. I felt very VERY VERY scared and I was shaking all over.

5. The only comment I can remember was that Ms Saunders said like others I read a bit too much.

6. Next time I think I’ll put a bit less details so that I can say more.

My Passion Project by Prisha

A passion project is a thing, person or place that you are passionate about.  Also it means you want to be like them when you grow up.  Mine was about a woman named Jane Goodall.  She saves the world and helps things.  I also want one day to be good to the world so people can know me.  I chose Keynote.  I felt excited, happy and a little bit shy.  Some said they liked my answers, what I used and my organisation.  I felt like I should add more to the main idea.  Next time I will improve on speaking with expression.  Next time I should also be more independent in my work so I can do it by myself.

My Passion Project by Yann

A passion project is a project that you study on it no matter what the unit is for a month.  My passion project was about Iron Man and it included his life, suit and knowledge.  I chose him because I was hearing about him for a long time in movies.  Now I have these movies (Iron Man 1 and 2).
I was quite nervous because I never did a project on my iPad on book creator.  I think I should improve in passing more time on my slides by talking more.  They said it was very good for a person that just started to speak English.

My Passion Project by Sachin

A passion project for me is something that I enjoy doing.  Something that is interesting and at the same time that I love researching so that the information stands out in my class.  My passion project was about my hero SACHIN TENDULKAR.  I chose Sachin because he is rated the best batsman in the world.  I chose to present my project on a poster because I feel it is easier for me and also my class kids can understand my project better.

When I presented my project I felt very confident about myself.  I have worked very hard to put my project together.  For me an excellent project is when you present it without reading and speaking loud and clear.  The comments the audience gave me made me very happy because they said I had spoken loud and clear.  They loved that I had dressed like my hero and they liked how I presented it.  It was very interesting.  They said that I didn’t read out my presentation.  Ms Saunders said that my presentation was excellent.

I hope in my next presentation that I will be outstanding! I believe practice makes perfect!

My class did passion projects.  A passion project is a project that you get to choose who or what you want to do on your project.  I did my passion project on Sultan Qaboos because he made Oman change from an undeveloped country to a beautiful home.  For my passion project I chose a poster.  When I did my presentation I felt nervous and shy.  I feel that I need to work on connecting my project to the Central Idea.

Very scared! Yesterday I presented my passion project.

What is a passion project?

A passion project is when you stand up and present what you were supposed to write about.  You have to present your passion project in front of everyone.  A P/P doesn’t have to be about UOI.  A passion project doesn’t have to be about animals or humans or anything else, it can be about anything, as long as it is informational and it is presented in front of someone.  Passion projects are something you are passionate about.

Me presenting my passion project!!

When I presented my passion project I was scared at the beginning but then I was excited.  My p/p was about a hero and my hero is His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.  When I saw the parents I was more nervous.  I was the first one to present my passion project so I was scared but luckily I got a good report for my passion project.

Passion Projects by Claire

A passion project is where you talk about and present about something you are passionate about.

My passion project was about Martin Luther King Junior.  I chose him because he helped black people in America and Africa.  I used Keynote as my presentation way for my photos and information.  Next time I’ll be more organised in where I put my information and the order of my slides.

Passion Project by Michael

In my project I read it to the whole class. I felt a bit scared, but confident.  It was a bit hard to put all the work into the story and next time I will try to organise my information better and try to choose what I really need.

Passion Project by Abhishek

I loved that I spoke clearly and loudly.  A passion project is when you write and talk about one person.

I chose Mahandas Karamchand Gandhi because he was the father of the nation.  I felt very excited because I practiced and practiced and got confident.  Almost everyone said I spoke clearly and loud.
