For example this is what Taif wrote: “The most interesting thing was that heroes can be strong but they don’t have to be strong and celebrities are sometimes heroes too! Even authors can be heroes.” In attitudes we had to write about how we were confident and enthusiastic and independent in our U.O.I. Our presentations were very good. We did some on Wednesday and some on Tuesday and some on Saturday. Ms. Saunders gave us options for a reflection on our projects and we had to choose 3 of them and write what we felt about our presentation.

By Elise, Shamma, Marie and Taif

What’s Up with our second UOI?

In our second U.O.I. we are working on Explorers. All of us have been working hard to figure out the answers. Everyone in our class loves maths. Ms Liezel makes maths very fun for all of us. There are lots to learn. We feel the sums can be easy, hard and in between. Mostly it is in between easy and hard. Maths is very popular in our class. Most of the kids in our class love maths. We are just finishing our unit by doing three digits and that is easy when you see how it is done. Our next unit in maths is going doing number stories we will do it with multiplication. It is good to get your maths finished because then you have no homework.

By Isabella, Kalea and Etienne

What’s Up in PE?

In P.E we are learning soccer. We are trying to work as a team so we don’t always have to argue. We first worked on passing each other the ball. We sometimes play skill games to help us improve in soccer. The game we liked the most was when we all had a ball and we had to kick everyone’s ball and the last person standing won. The most frustrating thing for me was when we always argue about who scored who and all that. If your thinking that we always do stuff in P.E outdoors you would be wrong we also do swimming! In swimming we work on all sorts of strokes for example: back stroke, Brest stroke, back stroke and Butterfly! Butterfly is the hardest stroke. Some people in our class do early morning swimming. In early morning swimming we get better at doing the strokes we have trouble with. Like me I have trouble in Butterfly. Our swimming lessons will be over soon because the water is getting colder and colder we had to get out the pool on one lesson of swimming. We were making graphs because we did a hero survey and we wanted to organize our information. We started on Microsoft excel and then onto a website that teaches kids how to make a graph. We are making movies on Windows movie maker so we can learn the skills involved and hopefully end up making our own movies. We are making the movies out of pictures and some of us have videos that we can put on. Elise likes to play French games. Marie does french. She likes to learn French words. Jackson does chess and he says it is a game of skill and can’t get any better. Janine does ball skills and early morning swimming. Janine says she has gotten better at both. Hannah is doing cricket and swimming. Day, the second was Poem in Your Pocket Day, and the last day was Dress-up Day. On P.J. Day, everyone wears their P.J.s to school. If you hear the bell ring during a class, you have to do D.E.A.R. It means Drop Everything And Read. On Poem In Your Pocket Day, everyone has to have a poem in their pocket. For example:

Peanut Butter

A peanut sat on a rail-road track,

Its heart all made of butter.

A big Express came round the track,

Toot! For example:

Elise dressed up as Summer from Puppy Power, so Elise brought the book Puppy Power.

By Elise

Book Week is the week that you don’t have to wear school colors. Book Week is more or less three days. The first day of Book Week was PJ’s day. PJs day is when all of us wear our favorite P.J.s to school. We could bring our pillows and teddies. I like P.J.s day because I can wake up late. I think every one liked PJs day because we don’t have to change for school, I spend most of my time dressing up for school. The second day is poem in your pocket. Poem in your pocket is when you search for a poem in the internet or you make one up. I made a Poem about poems I also made a poem about puppies. I made both of them up by my self with a little help from the internet. The third and last day is dress up day; it is when you chose a book character and dress up like them. I dressed up as Ruby Lu, Brave and True. There are so many characters to chose and some students don’t dress up because they don’t have a costume. It is really fun.

By Marie

Special Report: Book Orders!

Well, we started book orders a week ago and Wednesday the 19th was the day to return them.
