Today was a great chance to look at the lines of inquiry <em>exploring the cultures of others<\/em> and <em>exploring our cultures&#8217;s values and beliefs.<\/em> These lines of inquiry apply to us whether we are Omani or not! We thought we could ask an Omani adult for the answers to these questions.<\/p>\n<p>Amelie: I learned that Omani bread tastes like pancakes!<\/p>\n<p>Hassan: I realized that they use palm leaves to make things like hats and fans. The Omani coffee is<br \/>\n              really hot! You drink it with dates.<\/p>\n<p>Aya: That&#8217;s because there is no sugar in Omani coffee&#8230;the dates make it sweet.<\/p>\n<p>Stijn: They made things out of palms to put your food on. It can also cover your food from flies.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmed: They paint the leaves with colours.<\/p>\n<p>Amelie: How do they make chairs from palm leaves?<\/p>\n<p>Aya: How do they make the things that cover food?<\/p>\n<p>Jai: Why do they cook with their hands?<\/p>\n<p>Nibras: How do they make the fans? Is Sinbad the Sailor a real person?<\/p>\n<p>Hassan: Where was Sinbad born?<\/p>\n<p>It was a great way to start Oman Week!
