Who has the power in different societal systems? Students in Grade 4 inquired into this question as they investigated different forms of government this week. They looked at: direct and indirect democracy, dictatorship, theocracy, oligarchy, anarchy and monarchy. In pairs, students were asked to “rule” the class for a short period, exemplifying the use of power and how equal rights can be promoted or denied in various forms. <\/p>\n

The students had a lot of fun and I loved seeing their creativity in how they played out their roles.
