To fit in with the holiday periods we will run clubs over 11 weeks running up to the winter break and then two 9 week blocks fitted around spring break. Please read the notes, keep this sheet safe and hand in only the attached sign up sheet. Clubs will run on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays from 3:20 pm to 4:15 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Procedure:<\/p>\n<p>Put your name and grade on the sign up sheet!<br \/>\nRead the information supplied about each activity to ensure that you are choosing the right activity for you.<br \/>\nSome activities have limited numbers, so be sure to sign up fast as admissions will be on a first come, first served basis.<br \/>\nMark 1 next to your first choice and 2 next to your second for each day that you wish to attend a club. If your first choice activity is already full, you are likely to get your second choice.<br \/>\nPlease hand your completed activity forms, signed by your parent\/guardian, to Ruqaiya and Eiman at Reception.<br \/>\nNOT TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER.<\/p>\n<p>Your activity sheet will be returned to you with a tick next to the activity you are registered for. It should be then kept (on your fridge?) for future reference.<\/p>\n<p>A classroom will be made available for pupils who are waiting for their siblings to finish their club. In this room pupils should complete homework or read. There should be no-one unsupervised in school during afterschool activities, so please ensure that your child uses this facility if they are waiting for a sibling.<\/p>\n<p>Below is further information on the activities available. Please read this carefully before making your choice.<\/p>\n<p>Board Game (Grade 1-4) \u2013 Mrs. Kneepkens.<br \/>\nIn this club students play those traditional board games we all have lots of fun playing.<\/p>\n<p>Girls Soccer (Grade 3-6) \u2013 Mrs. Provencher<br \/>\nCome and kick the ball around! We\u2019ll work on our ball skills and teamwork and together. \u201cWe\u2019ll bend it like Beckham\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Snorkeling (All) \u2013 Mr. Akerstrom<br \/>\nLearn advanced snorkeling and basic diving techniques. Students need a mask and fins (available at Carrefour) if they are signing up for this activity.<\/p>\n<p>Chess (Grade 1-7) \u2013 Miss. Liezel<br \/>\nLearn the rules and strategies of this popular board game. Chess boards supplied.<\/p>\n<p>Singing (Grade 3-6) \u2013 Mrs. Akerstrom<br \/>\nInterested in improving your singing skills? Love Jazz, Classical or Pop music? Then join this singing club and build a repertoire for public performances.<\/p>\n<p>Beginner Swimming (Invitation only) \u2013 Ms. Celine and Mr. Carberry<br \/>\nThis is an opportunity for our new swimmers to spend more time in the water with an instructor. This helps to build on what students have learnt in class and become more confident and competent swimmers.<\/p>\n<p>Intermediate Swimming \u2013 Mr. Carberry<br \/>\nThis swim class is designed for pupils who can swim at least one full length of a recognized stroke and want to make improvements in their technique and endurance.<\/p>\n<p>Ballet \u2013 Ms. Saunders (Grade 7-10)<br \/>\nAimed at grade 7 and up, this class explores the principles of Classical Ballet barre and centre; it follows the RAD technique.<\/p>\n<p>Maths Club (Secondary) \u2013 Mr. Pemberton<br \/>\nThis club is open to those secondary students who\u2019d like to top up their knowledge with some extra math tutoring.<\/p>\n<p>Drama (Secondary) \u2013 Mr. Provencher<br \/>\nThis club is for all those future Brad Pitts and Angelina Jollies out there who would like to polish their acting skills.<\/p>\n<p>Cooking Club (Grade 4-8) \u2013 Donna<br \/>\nWelcome to Master Chef Australia. This club is open to all those budding chefs out there who wish to cook up a storm.<\/p>\n<p>Basketball (Grade 5-10) \u2013 Mr. Kearney<br \/>\nCome and further your basketball skills and have some fun. We may even be able to make up some school teams for playing against other schools.<\/p>\n<p>Street Hockey (Grade 3-6) \u2013 Mr. George<br \/>\nCome and play this fast moving game that has very few rules and lots of action.<\/p>\n<p>Creative Craft (Grade 1-6) \u2013 Mrs. Hampton (Tuesday) and Miss Marie (Sunday)<br \/>\nLet your creativity flow and have some fun with this \u201chands on\u201d activity.<\/p>\n<p>Art Open Studio (Secondary) \u2013 Mr. Hampton<br \/>\nThis club is open for those students who want to further their artistic skills and work on their end of year tasks.<\/p>\n<p>Speed Stacking (Grade 4-5) \u2013 Ms. Ushar<br \/>\nTry this new sport that improves your speed, coordination and concentration. What\u2019s it all about? You\u2019ll have to see it to believe it.<\/p>\n<p>Busy Builders (Grade 1-3) \u2013 Mrs. Willis<br \/>\nIf you enjoy making things then this is the club for you. Houses, skyscrapers, machines we can build them with a variety of building materials.<\/p>\n<p>Jumping Jam (Grade 1-3) \u2013 Ms. Finch<br \/>\nMove, groove and learn some easy and fun dances at Jump Jam! Sweat and smile to some fun songs.<\/p>\n<p>Film Making (Grade 4-10) \u2013 Mr. Wolfe<br \/>\nAre you a movie buff? Do you like to tell stories and be creative? Learn some basic tips and techniques to make short films. We\u2019ll use our iPads, iMovie and many other apps to create, edit and export our creations. Once they\u2019re done we can enjoy them with our friends and families<\/p>\n<p>Indoor Cricket (Grade 4-10) \u2013 Mr. Carberry<br \/>\nTwenty 20 cricket action indoors. For all those future Sachin Tendulkars and Dale Steyns out there, join in, improve your skills and hit some big ones.<\/p>\n<p>Early Morning Swim Squad \u2013 Mr. Carberry<br \/>\nThis activity is by invite only for those committed swimmers who wish to make the most of their potential with some early morning training. We\u2019ll be holding these sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00 am.
