Dear Parents,<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, we continued developing our number skills up to 50. Many students can now count confidently and independently.<\/span><\/p>\n

We also began learning about even and odd numbers. The children explored what these words mean and how we can identify whether a number is even or odd. We also practised skip counting in 2s. Using numbers from 1 to 20, the children arranged the numbers in order and then practised counting by jumping over every second number.<\/span><\/p>\n

To practise before and after numbers, the children played the \u201cBefore and After\u201d game with a partner. This was a fun and active way to strengthen their number understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

At home, you can support your child by counting forwards and backwards to 50 and asking questions such as: \u201cWhat number comes before 8?\u201d or \u201cWhat number comes after 12?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
