Hello dear families,

I hope you are all doing well. Here is a little update on what we have been working on in Spanish this week:

This week in Spanish ab initio Grade 11, we have been practising vocabulary and continuing to work with the verbs ser (to be) and tener (to have). Students are also working on their pronunciation and are gradually becoming more comfortable and confident using their new knowledge.

Learning a new language is certainly challenging. It requires our brains to process many new sounds, words, structures and connections at the same time, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. However, the group is doing very well, and I am very happy with the progress they are making. It is lovely to see them gradually becoming more confident with Spanish.

In Spanish ab initio Grade 12, students have been working on the past tenses, particularly in relation to how they can use them effectively in their Individual Oral (Internal Assessment). We have also continued practising both writing and speaking skills in class, helping students to express themselves with increasing confidence and accuracy.

In Spanish B Grade 12, our student has been working very hard on developing her writing skills. This week, she wrote a beautiful opinion column exploring how we can preserve cultural identity in multicultural contexts. It was a thoughtful and engaging piece of writing, and I was very pleased to see her ideas and language coming together so effectively.

We will continue working on her oral skills and preparing carefully for the assessment, with the aim of achieving excellent results.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It is a pleasure to see the students’ progress and growing confidence in Spanish!

Ms. Manu

Hello dear families, I hope you are all doing well.
