Students investigated how different indicators\u2014including <strong>litmus, phenolphthalein, universal indicator, and natural plant pigments<\/strong>\u2014can be used to identify unknown solutions and estimate their pH.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Students also <strong>made their own natural indicator from red cabbage<\/strong>, then used it to investigate and classify laboratory and household substances as <strong>acidic, neutral, or alkaline<\/strong>.
