The children worked on counting out matching groups of objects and identifying which numbers are bigger or smaller.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Phonics &amp; Handwriting:<\/b> We introduced and reinforced four key letter sounds: <b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"76\">\/p\/<\/b>, <b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"81\">\/n\/<\/b>, <b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"86\">\/ck\/<\/b>, and <b data-path-to-node=\"3,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"96\">\/e\/<\/b>. The children practiced hearing these sounds at the beginning and end of simple words, blending them together to read early cvc words, and forming each letter neatly using proper stroke order.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Unit of Study:<\/b> Our lessons centered on identity, self-worth, and community. We discussed the unique qualities and strengths each child brings to our classroom, explored what it means to belong to a group, and highlighted simple ways to show kindness, empathy, and care toward our peers every day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Important Reminders<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"5\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Swimming (Mondays, 11:40\u201312:20):<\/b> Children should wear regular clothes to school.
