The students have shown excellent problem-solving and thinking skills, and it has been great to see them working together with their peers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Grade 8 students are submitting their first formatives, which show their understanding of the elements of art. We have also discussed the principles of design: rhythm and movement, contrast, emphasis, balance, unity and variety, pattern, and repetition. Next week, students will have a surprise activity where they can apply this knowledge in a hands-on activity, which will be the start of their first artwork.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students in Grade 10 have spent their week learning the subtractive method of using charcoal. Instead of beginning by sketching out an object, they create a medium value on their paper and begin by erasing!
