I will be teaching MYP grades 9 &amp; 10 and DP grades 11 &amp; 12. It has been a wonderful start to the school year getting to know my students and beginning new units of study.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DP2 (Grade<\/strong> <strong>12)<\/strong>: DP2 (SL\/HL) students have started studying the <em>manga<\/em> graphic novel\u00a0<em>Monster\u00a0<\/em>by Naoki Urasawa, a suspenseful mystery\/thriller that unpacks ethical dilemmas faced by doctors, leaders, and everyday people. HL students are also beginning another classic literary work, <em>The Tenant of Wildfell Hall<\/em>, by Anne Bront\u00eb, often considered to be one of the first novels to challenge power imbalances between men and women during Victorian England.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DP1 (Grade 11)<\/strong>: DP1 students are being introduced the course through the study of non-literary text types, specifically satirical\/political cartoons and visual artworks. This unit will help them learn to identify and explore global issues through texts that combine language and images.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MYP Year 5 (Grade 10)<\/strong>: MYP5 students are learning to analyze and evaluate films, exploring how film creators take narratives from the page to the big screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MYP Year 4 (Grade 9)<\/strong>: MYP4 students are investigating the reasons that humans travel, whether for pleasure, work, education, or in response to hardships.
